We are so excited that Spring and warmer weather is finally here! Spring is the time for new beginnings and a new skincare routine. The products that we used all Winter to keep our skin protected from the cold weather might not be as effective during this new upcoming season. Here are some tricks and tips on how to transition your skincare routine for these sunny months ahead:
1. Spring cleaning!
Out with the old, in with the new. Check the expiration dates of all of your skincare and makeup products to make sure that everything is still fresh and safe to use. Throw away any products that are expired to make some room for new and fresh products being added to your routine.
2. Switch to a lightweight moisturizer
Your go-to winter moisturizer might be too heavy for the springtime. A gel or lightweight formula is more breathable on the skin and is especially helpful combatting shininess caused by warmer weather perspiration. We suggest using a gel formula, hyaluronic acid serum or a water based formula moisturizer.
3. Exfoliate, Rejuvenate
Warmer weather may bring Spring showers, but it also brings humidity which is more likely to lead to clogged pores. It’s no secret that there’s a higher build up of sweat, oil and makeup on your face during the warmer months. Exfoliating twice a week can help remove all of those dead skin cells and unclog your pores. Spring is all about shedding layers and starting anew! In need of some pore rejuvenation? Luckily our pore refining Rose Gold Peel Off Mask Rosé All Day is buy one get one free on our website until March 27th!
4. Opt for a higher SPF
Now that we will be spending more of our days outside in the sun, we are definitely going to need a higher SPF daily sunscreen. We suggest using a sunscreen that is specifically formulated for the face to avoid pore congestion, and one that has an SPF of 30 or higher.
5. Setting spray to save the day
Spring is the perfect time to try out new makeup looks and incorporate fun, bright colours into your routine! We definitely want those makeup looks to last throughout the day, so invest in a long lasting setting spray to keep your look in place and guarantee that your makeup will still be in place for happy hour!
