7 Unexpected Self Care Rituals That You Should Be Doing

February is the month of love, and at MaskerAide, it is the month of self love. We want to remind you of the importance of taking care of yourself!


Self care can be practiced in many different forms, and we put together a checklist of 7 self care rituals that you should be doing. 

 

  1. Fuel your body 

You should always take care of yourself from the inside out - and that means fueling your body with the nutrients you need! Even tasks like grocery shopping are considered an act of self care. Make sure that you are giving your body the nutrients it needs.

 

2. Indulge in something you love 


Treating yourself is a great reward and everyone needs something to look forward to every once and awhile. Take care of yourself by indulging in something you love - that could be a cupcake from your favorite local bakery, spending time with your best friends, or planning a trip you’ve always wanted to go on. They are all great ways to show yourself some love!

 

3. Skincare routine 


We are a skincare brand after all, so how could we not mention your skincare routine? Take the time to cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate your skin every day so that you are feeling fresh and pampered. Our favourite skincare step is masking (duh!). Put a sheet mask on and relax for 15-20 minutes and get ready to relax, unwind and reveal glowing skin!

 

4. Reading 


Fuel your mind as you would your body! Watching a show or movie can be a very relaxing activity, but when you read a book you are exercising your mind and it is a very fulfilling feeling to read. 

 

 

5. Time outdoors / physical activity

Get outside today or stop by your local gym! There are so many fun activities to participate in that will get your feet moving and your heart pumping. This will make you feel good and also release tension!

 

6. Meditate / quiet time


Take some time to be still and quiet, or even softly play music in the background. It is good to take about 5 minutes a day to do self-reflection, or just bask in the stillness. Put your mind at ease and take slow, deep breaths. 

 

7. Reward yourself 


That jacket you’ve been eying for weeks? That new phone case that you don’t need, but you kinda do? Go ahead and do something for yourself. You are trying your best, and you deserve it!
