1. Follow a consistent skincare routine
Having a reliable skincare routine that you consistently follow is very important in maintaining healthy and glowing skin. It is also a great way to start your morning! Your skincare routine doesn’t have to be a super long ten-step process; it can be as simple as using a cleanser, a moisturizer and maybe even a serum or two (before the moisturizer, of course). The best feeling is starting the day off with a clean and refreshed face!
2. Take a shower
Similar to skincare, showers are a perfect start to the day. Nothing beats the feeling of being clean and fully moisturized after waking up from an eight-hour sleep. You can always just rinse off if you’re low on time, or you can give yourself the complete spa experience with a variety of soaps, scrubs, and moisturizers. Whether it be short or long, a morning shower is always a good idea.
3. Grab yourself a cup of coffee or tea
Who doesn’t love a nice cup of coffee or tea in the morning? The great thing about both of these drinks is that they can be made either hot or cold depending on the season. Having an iced coffee on a hot summer morning is beyond refreshing, and the thought of a hot tea in the winter gives you a valid reason to get out of your toasty bed and face the world. If you’re not sold on them yet, most coffees and teas are caffeinated, meaning they also provide a much-needed energy boost to help you get through your tasks for the day.
4. Avoid using social media for the first hour of your day
We could all benefit from giving our mind some time to rest in the morning before scrolling through social media. The internet is filled with so many conflicting opinions and ideas; this is generally a good thing, of course, but being bombarded with all of these ideas right at the start of your day can be overwhelming and may cause unnecessary stress.
5. Meditate or listen to some music
Meditation in one form or another is a great way to put your mind in a good state before continuing on with your day. It is actually a perfect alternative to going on social media within the first hour after waking up. Where social media can often create stress, meditation does the opposite, making you feel at peace, empowered, and ready to face whatever challenges the day brings. It can be as simple as listening to your favourite music with a good message.
Starting your day off by doing things that make you feel good makes for a successful morning routine and essentially sets the mood for the rest of the day. Whether it be doing skincare, taking a refreshing shower, grabbing a drink, meditating rather than scrolling, or anything else that brings you joy, make sure to do it as often as possible!
